This phenomenon is still a mystery & people/experts have been trying to determine if there is a logical insect explanation for them. Rods are lightening fast & its rare to be able to capture them in a photo. Below are some rods in edit that I have captured.

After my edits from what I can tell, it could be possible sentients/spirits use this phenomena as a means of transportation. They often times are in perfect alignment as if they are seated on a bus. This is also seen in orbs after an edit.

Light anomalies can come in different shapes & sizes unlike the orb which is a sphere shape that transforms to a bullet shape when in motion.

Some believe that rods are hyperdimensional beings, meaning that if the spirits realm has different dimensions, then its possible these could come from one of the higher dimensions.

Others believe they are insects.
